Summary: The Academy of the Holy Names seeks a talented and energetic Summer on Bayshore Camp Counselor.  The individual provides supervision of campers for the duration of the day for students from PK3 to 5th grade; ability to problem solve and make good decisions. The counselor will monitor learning, adult lead activities, and indoor and outdoor play. Hours are mainly from 8:30 am-4:30 pm.

Reports to: Under the supervision of the Director of Auxiliary Programs and Camp Director.

Qualifications:
1. Experience working with children in a school or camp setting is preferred
2. Assist roles: High School diploma and actively seeking a college degree in education preferred
3. Lead roles: Bachelor’s Degree and teaching certificate preferred
4. Must be 18 years or older

Responsibilities:
1. Supervise children from PK3 to 5th Grade
2. Supervise and ensure safety for indoor activities, playground time, and pool time
3. Supervise high school volunteers to be sure they are actively involved with the children
4. Lead or assist in daily activities and needs for the camper’s best interest
5. Monitor lunch and snack times for campers
6. Monitor and enforce the Summer on Bayshore rules and expectations for continued safety
7. Able to work effectively in Florida's Summer heat both indoors and outdoors
8. Required to sit, talk, hear and visually communicate with campers, parents, and supervisors
9. Other duties as assigned.

All positions are hired for specific weeks of summer camp, all weeks run Monday thru Friday.
