Employment Opportunity: The Academy of the Holy Names seeks a Business Manager who is talented and energetic. The individual is responsible for maintaining the financial records relating to all transactions and activities. These responsibilities include maintaining the general ledger, accounts receivable, cash receipts, billing, overseeing the annual audit, as well as having direct responsibility for accounts payable.

 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ experience in a not-for-profit organization. Prior experience in a school setting and CPA preferred. Experience with Veracross SIS a plus.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain complete accounting records as well account reconciliations.
  • Oversee the monthly closings of the general ledger and the distribution of monthly reports to stakeholders.
  • Maintain accounts receivable system including subsidiary ledger accounts, receipt of payments, deposits to bank, individual parent billing records, and invoicing.
  • Maintain asset inventory records.
  • Assist in the implementation of a new school information system.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable and the timely payments of vendor invoices.
  • Assist in the development of the annual budget as well identifying budget variances.
  • Oversee the annual audit, including preparation of audit schedules, coordination and reconciliation with other departments and interfaces with audit firm.
  • Assist in the Financial Aid process.
  • Stays abreast of accounting pronouncements, best practice and industry trends and foster initiatives to improve business operations.
  • Collaborate effectively with and provide support for the different constituents within the organization including the Elementary and Middle Schools, the Office of Advancement and the Admissions Office.
  • Maintain student enrollment data.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
