Employment Opportunity

The Academy of the Holy Names seeks an Assistant Director for Summer on Bayshore. Under the supervision of the Director of Auxiliary Programs. The individual provides support to the Camp Director as well as supervision for campers from age three(3) to fourteen(14). The Assistant Director must be willing to go above and beyond in the best interests of campers, displaying integrity, sound judgment, self-confidence, maturity and a sense of perspective. The Assistant Director must have a strong work ethic, excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Prior Summer Camp experience preferred
  • Lifeguard Certification or ability to acquire
  • Experience working with children is preferred
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Suite and computer knowledge

 

Position Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assistant Director is expected to be available Monday – Friday starting June 4 – July 24, less than 40 days.
  • Assist in orientation and staffing needs.
  •  Act as a liaison to help set expectations and answer questions.
  •  Will assist in many parts of the registration system, including but not limited to: registration communication with parents and attend advertisement camp functions when able/request.
  • Assist in set-up and break-down of camp.
  • Monitor and be responsible for the safety and supervision of each camper on campus.
  • Assist in day-to-day camp operations.
  • Oversee the lunch order and process daily.
  • Monitor campers’ pick-up and drop-off.
  • Engage in active participation over campers at the pool and pool activities.
  • When requested, is expected to travel to off-site events and provide supervision.
  • Monitor camp attendance in the morning and afternoon.
  • Organize and handle all camp gift distributions.
  • Maintain confidentiality among students, parents and other faculty and staff members.
  • Ability to walk stairs, stand for long periods of time and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Willing and capable to work in both indoor and outdoor climates throughout the day.
  • Assist in Director duties in the event they are not present or on campus.
  • Adult employees are required to have Safe Environment Training and all employees will participate in an orientation session prior to the first day of the summer program

 

The Assistant Director for Summer on Bayshore reports to the Director of Auxiliary Programs.
