Employment Opportunity

The Academy of the Holy Names seeks a Certified Lifeguard for Summer on Bayshore. Under the supervision of the Director of Auxiliary Programs and Camp Director. The individual provides supervision of pool area and outdoor and indoor play for students from age three (3) to fourteen (14); ability to problem solve and make good decisions; and assist the Camp Director as needed. Hours are from 9:00a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Qualifications

  • Current Lifeguard Certification or ability to renew
  • Experience working with children in a school setting is preferred

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Lifeguard is responsible for the safety and supervision of each camper, from age three (3) to fourteen (14) years of age.
  • Lifeguard is responsible to assist in camper’s transitions including but not limited to: walking campers back after swim, directing to next camp activity and/or to lunch.
  • Lifeguard assists in the management of counselors, campers and volunteers to provide a safe pool environment
  • Lifeguard must be present and an active supervisor when campers are using the pool.
  • Lifeguard will assist with inside games in the event pool time is cancelled due to weather.
  • Lifeguard, when requested, is expected to travel to off-site events/field trips and provide supervision.
  • Lifeguards are required to have current Safe Environment Training (SET) and will participate in an orientation session prior to the first day of Summer Camp.
  • Lifeguards acknowledge that positions may be changed/altered, due to the needs of Summer on Bayshore.
  • In the event of an unforeseeable circumstance where the Lifeguard will be unable to attend the week of a camp, it is their responsibility to notify the Director of Auxiliary Programs and the Summer Camp Director directly by phone and email.

The Certified Lifeguard for Summer on Bayshore reports to the Director of Auxiliary Programs.
